Gardening and sustainability
Many things in nature are interlinked and Parul Sharma from Delhi utilised all of it. She grew up with nature all around as her mother had a passion of gardening. This developed her interest.
She came to know about the benefits of plants around us and this inspired and intrigued her curiosity. Her biggest cheerleaders were her parents as they clapped on every bit of achievement and her supportive husband .
She could see the damage in adulteration of food and that many diseases like cancer were caused by this. She had my curiosity towards medicinal plants so that she could help mankind through it .
She found that plants like Cordia macleodii could treat fatal diseases.
No journey is possible without challenges and failures as these are your biggest teacher. Even she faced some ups and downs in her journey like earlier she had lesser space for gardening. She started with a terrace garden and then social media gave me a platform to showcase her garde. She reached people who wanted me to help in this organic food production. So with the blessings of Mother Nature she got a chance to work as Consultant in Botany and Horticulture with bigger space and hence greater exposure. In 2020 I started her professional journey in this area and was offered consultancy in a premium resort.
With the help of Chattisgarh team in 2023 was called to prepare cancer treating plant Cordia macleodii to be planted in President house which is the pride of our nation and hence was a huge achievement. She also got an opportunity to plant this tree at Khatushyam Delhi Dham.
She believes that it’s just the beginning and there is yet so much to be done. Awareness in younger generations for sustainable development and awareness towards nature has to be done, she states and has high hopes and enthusiasm to bring change as Safety of nature is safety of mankind.
She now has a YouTube channel in which she posts content related to gardening and sustainability.
