Reaching out to others
We all keep thinking about reaching out to others but do not do this. There are many who do and inspire us. Given below is the journey of John Sircar as told to Jamuna Rangachari
My journey as the founder of Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) began with a deep sense of empathy and compassion for marginalized communities. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the struggles of those affected by poverty, inequality, and social injustice. These experiences ignited fire within me to make a difference by empowering and positively impacting unprivileged lives.
I am forever grateful to my wife Mrs Lalita John Sircar who have been my rock throughout this journey. My single parent Mrs Ann Sircar and mentor Rev Mother Mary Rose Thapa, MSMHC instilled in me the values of kindness, empathy, and selflessness. My co-founder Dr Pramod Pasi have been incredibly supportive, often making sacrifices to enable me to pursue my passion. I also appreciate the guidance and mentorship of several individuals who believed in my vision and offered valuable advice and encouragement.
The journey of establishing and running HHF has not been without its challenges. One of the most significant hurdles was securing funding to support our programs. To overcome this, I invested countless hours in researching grant opportunities, building relationships with donors, and exploring innovative fundraising strategies. Another challenge was navigating the complexities of bureaucratic systems to access resources and services for our beneficiaries. I addressed this by fostering strong partnerships with local authorities, service providers, and other stakeholders.
There have been numerous moments that stand out as particularly special. One such moment was when we helped a young girl from a marginalized community secure a scholarship to pursue her matriculation and a course in MS-CIT in which she scored 91/100 marks, Witnessing her tears of joy and gratitude was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have. Another memorable moment was when we ensured zero hunger in remote rural slums during the lockdown period to curb Covid-19 Pandemic by gifting 4 tones of food grains
My hope for the future is to continue expanding HHF's reach and impact, supporting more marginalized communities and individuals. I envision a society where everyone has access to equal opportunities, resources, and justice. I also hope to strengthen our partnerships and collaborations, leveraging collective expertise and resources to create sustainable, systemic change.
Knowing his zeal, I am sure he shall fulfil all his hopes.
