The secret to good health lies in a well functioning body. Dr Piyush Saxena shows us how to do so through his book, Cure Yourself. Described in detail in the book are methods to cleanse some of the vital organs of the body – kidneys, liver, joints – as well as cleanse out parasites and acidity.

An effort to physically cleanse one’s polluted body, has the potential to vastly improve vitality. Cleansing therapy is a part of treatments that are often referred to as complementary medicine, and not usually advocated by the medical fraternity. It aims at a long-term relief and cure. The detoxification leads to general health improvement, as accumulated toxins are expelled from the body.

The body’s capacity for self-repair, given appropriate conditions is emphasised, facilitating the body’s own healing process rather than targeting individual disease process or alleviatingtroublesome symptoms. Patients feel a difference including regulated blood pressure, improved sleep, higher energy levels, pain reduction, improved haemoglobin levels and so on.

The success of cleansing therapy and the results it provides lie in the fact that it does not require a lifestyle change, you can continue eating and drinking your favourite foods, yet maintain a healthy life.

The book also contains exact details about the products involved, including vendors for certain hard-to-find items such as bug zappers. With a list of questions and answers for each cleanse, the reader has all his ‘what’s and ‘how’s cleared. It also lists patients who have successfully cleansed and cured themselves using the techniques given in the book.

Useful as its contents are, one wishes that the author had also 'cleaned' up the production values of the book. The services of a competent editor and designer are sorely missed.

A reiki practitioner and doctor of naturopathy, Dr Saxena is also familiar with the corporate field. He has appeared on radio and television shows, including 7 Start Care and Shakti TV, lecturing on naturopathy.
