Editspeak Farewell

June 2017

By Suma Varughese

Dear Reader,

The issue that you hold in your hand will be the last that I will have the privilege to edit. By this time, I would have retired from Life Positive after 21 years with the magazine, and 12 years as its Editor-in-chief. These years have been far and away the happiest of my life. When I came to Life Positive in February 1996, I was vulnerable and fragile. Today, I leave it far more confident, peaceful and joyous. It is Life Positive that facilitated this change. It has been a lifeline that kept my body and soul together, while enabling me to contribute to the lives of others. It has been my mission, allowing me to broadcast my vision of a New Age. It has been a womb, where I gathered my scattered energies and integrated myself. It has been a guru, where I imbibed precious wisdom from articles I edited or wrote, books I read, and my interaction with masters, and healers. It has been my sangha, where I made most of my friends, be they readers, writers or facilitators, associated with Life Positive. Words cannot do justice to the debt I owe our chairman, Aditya Ahluwalia, for his unstinting support and encouragement all these years. Were it not for his fairness, and ethical leadership, I would not have lasted this long. My deep gratitude to our President, Mr Kaarthikeyan, for his dynamic encouragement. And my heartfelt love to all my colleagues who have been no less than a family to me. Finally, thank you, dear reader, for the love and gratitude you have showered upon me all these years. Before I conclude, let me introduce the new Editor, Shivi Verma, formerly Deputy Editor. Shivi has proven to be remarkably evolved and with a gift for original ideas and their execution. Under her able leadership, I am absolutely confident that Life Positive will soar ever higher. May Life Positive achieve the great success it deserves.
