Global Warming
May 2009
Earth Hour is a global event organised by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund).
It is observed on the last Saturday of March annually, by increasing number of households and businesses who turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. This year many in India joined Earth Hour for the first time by switching off lights. New Delhi and Mumbai are among 825 cities across 80 countries and territories whose inhabitants have pledged their support to this cause.
Apply it: Switch off the lights, light a candle. Use fewer appliances.
