Harnessing Buddhas energy

Buddha Purnima or Wesak is a significant date, specifically in the spiritual calendar of Southeast Asia. The day witnesses the cascading descent of Divine energy on the physical realm of this world. Wesak is the most powerful full moon of the year. A day of birth and enlightenment, and a day on which Lord Buddha comes down to earth to bless all living beings with divinity, good health, love, happiness, prosperity, success, and illumination. It is a time of unusual inflow of life and of spiritual stimulation, serving to vitalise the aspiration of all humanity.

To facilitate the flow of this energy, New Delhi based Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) organised a countrywide mega event on April 30, 2018. The event witnessed a footfall of 2000 participants at the Wesak meditation program held at the Indira Gandhi stadium, at the break of dawn. One of the participants and a pranic healer, Anupama Sharma, shares the rationale behind this mass phenomenon. “The pranic energy gets amplified and multiplied when the meditation on Loving Kindness is practised by a large number of people. The larger the group, the greater the spiritual connection and hence, stronger the inflow of divine power. This amplified force of energy will flush out all the blockages that are preventing people from growing,” she says.

Starting sharp at 5:30 am, under the guidance of YPV founder N J Reddy, the huge gathering first participated in forgiveness sadhana. It is a guided sadhana that allows one to forgive oneself and others, and seek forgiveness from others. The meditation ends with cutting the chords (remnants of emotional energy) with all those one sought forgiveness from and granted it to. The forgiveness sadhana was followed by a long, guided meditation for planetary peace.

Talking about the significance of this meditation, Reddy explained how this powerful and potent method sought to contribute towards achieving world peace and global harmony. The meditation focuses on the heart chakra and the crown chakra. The heart chakra is associated with love for our close fellow human beings, while the crown chakra signifies love at a wider level, leading to spiritual love or spiritual oneness. “By blessing the earth, one can become a channel to bring Divine energy from the spiritual realm to the physical realm. It enables one to feel Divine love and an intense sense of oneness with everyone and everything in the world. This energy activates the love aspect within, which heals our inner anger and hatred, our sorrow and suffering,” explained Reddy.

Yoga Prana Vidya started conducting the annual Wesak meditation programme in the year 2012 and has grown steadily with an increase in the number of participants turning up every year for the sake of world peace. The event was webcast live all across the country, with thousands of people participating in the early morning session, in cities such as Chandigarh, Lucknow, Varanasi, Mysore, and Coimbatore.
