How A Banana Goes to Heaven

How A Banana Goes to Heaven, Author: Ratna Rajaiah, Published By: Westland,Pages: 246, Rs 395
A cookbook with a difference, this one goes beyond merely listing recipes and exploring the business of eating consciously, and reminds one somewhat of KT Achaya’s Dictionary of Indian food. The book dedicates some space to the business of eating wisely and then some to the history of common foods like rice, potatoes and bananas. Some space is also given to the rumoured aphrodisiac, antiseptic and other therapeutic uses of foods according to ayurveda and unani systems of medicine. One does wish the book had more recipes, though.
