Bogged by existential questions? Tired of your static life? Looking for what to do next? Then join Re-lead, an initiative started by Blue Ribbon Movement, a social enterprise founded in 2000 to nurture social leadership in India. Formed on the premise of ‘Together We are Stronger,’ and ‘Green India, Great India’ the group recently conducted leadership circles around India to distil the main principles, skills, essential practices and insights necessary for the development of a quality leadership that works for everyone. Leadership practitioners from the corporate and spiritual worlds, as well as social workers, academics and entrepreneurs came together for collective exploration in six different cities. What emerged were three distinct journeys to be taken by every aspiring leader.

Leaders for a new India

First the ‘Me journey’, a process of reflection and alignment with the individual’s higher purpose. Second is the ‘We journey’ of including and honouring diversity and finally comes the ‘Us journey’ of surrendering to a higher intelligence and holding space for change to happen.  These ideas led to the creation of an international training programme called Re-lead. Re-lead is a six-day experience of exploring leadership in collaboration with IIM, Bangalore. Says Abhishek Thakore, anchor of the programme, “For youth, it focuses on the timeless question – ‘What should I do with my life?’ while for the rest, it explores  – ‘What is the next level?’ Far too many of us find ourselves trapped in work that doesn’t excite or seems meaningful. There is also a desire for greater impact and contribution, which require us to honour our inner voice, build skills to lead from a different space and operate in alignment with our values. Relead addresses these issues.” Relead’s methodology is a blend of various disciplines such as art, games, simulations and conversations  combining action with reflection. “Individuals who make choices grounded in their deepest gifts and highest calling will naturally create a different world.” adds Abhishek.
