Each of us needs a daily dose of wisdom and spirituality.

While the intentions are noble and we want to spiritually evolve, somewhere in the humdrum of life, we forget. This book is a reminder. It tells you again, and again, that life is a parable – a series of experiences, each having a message. And when you become a good student and are able to turn each day into a realisation, enlightenment ensues. A handbook for right living of sorts, Life is a Parable has several little stories from everyday life. Written in the form of conversations between Master and disciple, this book touches upon various subjects of interest to the seeker - from selfless giving to silence, from loving to letting go.

A story that provided much food for thought for me is one where the disciple approaches the Master and asks, 'What is enlightenment?' 'It is to awaken to the fact that you die,' replied the Master, 'every time you tenaciously cling to yourself and things around you while at the same time you are aware that there is something deep inside you that does not die.' When the disciple looks perplexed, the Master continues, 'Let go of all that dies and hold fast to whatever never dies. Be possessed by it and you will be enlightened.'

This is a simple book with a simple message that all of life is a classroom for spiritual growth. If complexity of thoughts and superiority of language is what you seek, then this book may not satisfy you – but if the yearning is for learning out of the simplest moments in life, then it's a must-have.
