Reiki for animals

We mustn’t forget the animal kingdom whom we share the city with,” says Varsha Kulkarni, a reiki therapist from Mumbai.

Along with the usual clientele who come for reiki treatment to her, Varsha treats animals too. She recalls sending distant reiki to a 17-year old pomeranian who used to cry all day. Her owners found that after 21 days of treatment, she had reduced her crying by nearly 80 per cent. A stray bitch in her locality had a severe infection and did not let anyone approach her. On receiving reiki from Varsha, the pus dried up and she could be approached for further treatment.

Healing all, man or mouse: Varsha Kulkarni
Varsha wanted to treat animals without knowing the details of veterinary science. When she completed her third level of reiki, she started using it to treat them. Also trained as an acupressurist, she finds that massages relaxes the animal considerably and makes them feel cared for.

Animals understand reiki very well and respond amazingly to it, says Varsha. She has treated physical wounds, injuries as well as emotional issues. Reiki accelerates the healing process, eases pain and improves the quality of your pet’s life. It can delay the onset and progression of certain diseases and can energise and revitalise older animals. For pets in the last stages of life, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort and relief from pain, fear of the unknown and anxiety.
