Interpersonal relationships is an area where many of us can do with guidance and help. We all face problems in our relationships, be it with family, friends, colleagues, or lovers. We strive to bridge these gaps and work toward a happy satisfying life, although we may not always get there so easily. Not wanting to ask others for help, the situation is often left to deteriorate. Happy Hours addresses this need and tries to give one a wholesome perspective, broadening one's understanding.

Dr Sweta Chowdhury, a counselling psychologist, hypnotherapist, soft skills trainer and NLP practitioner, aims to create more happiness by guiding people to a blossoming relationship. Talking about simple things such as appreciating your life, accepting yourself and others, she tries to allow the individual to see things from more than just their point of view. Advising shifting from a negatively-oriented mindset to a more positive attitude, the book speaks about seeing the larger good, serving others selflessly and sharing knowledge and workload.

Ruskin Bond's preview of the book reads, 'Spread a little happiness around you, encourage the aspirations of others, be supportive to those who need your help, and what you give of yourself will come back to you tenfold. Keep this book on your shelf or bedside table and dip into it from time to time. It will lift your spirits.'

Asking the reader to introspect, have patience and understand, it outlines the simple rules that can help iron out an issue between two people. Although nothing can take the place of professional help, we can be aware of what obstacles we face and face them in a better manner. The book has scope for improvement, and can use some sprucing up.
