A weekend of discovery
People flocked to the ISF 2021, which was conducted after a gap of almost two years, to partake of the wisdom and essential life skills shared in its workshops, say Shivi Verma and Navni Chawla

The Life Positive International Spiritual Festival 2021, which was held on November 27 and 28, 2021 at Zorba the Buddha, New Delhi witnessed people from diverse fields attending the four special workshops over two days. Master facilitators, Hitesh and Shubhangi Vashisht, Nasreen Khan, Karishma Manchanda, and Sidhharrth S Kumaar seized the show with their excellent teaching and interacting skills.

Mrs Krishna said, “Nasreen Khan’s NLP workshop was quite powerful and has impacted me very positively. Karishma Manchanda’s workshop, Healing with Akashic Records, was very intriguing and made me more curious about this subject.”

Prof. Ranjit Singh said, “I thoroughly enjoyed both the workshops that I attended. They gave me a fresh perspective on life, human behaviour, and situations. These two days of retreating within were fruitful, and I want to congratulate team Life Positive for making such an amazing offline event happen after all this time.”

Day 1, November 27
Transgenerational Healing with Hitesh and Shubhangi Vashisht

The layers of the mind are deep and, often, issues get lodged in such deep recesses that it becomes difficult to identify which soul-wound or trauma is causing blockages in your life. Some of them are generational in nature, where the energy of pain gets carried from one generation to another because it was not healed on time.

Family dynamics are meant to be simple but often they get complicated because of certain mishaps or misconduct by the members of a family tree. Transgenerational healing untangles those knots and allows the flow of love and strength back into a person’s life. Difficult relationships also get resolved through this process.

Facilitators Hitesh and Shubhangi, a tall and stately couple, facilitated the workshop with grace, ease, compassion and deep acceptance of the participants. Citing the analogy of King Bhagirath, who compelled the river Ganga to come to earth to purge the sins of his ancestors, Hitesh said that the Ganga represents love emanating from Lord Shankar, the ultimate truth. The love of God purges the family tree of karma and brings salvation to the dead and liberation to the living family members. Hitesh said that every family runs on the order of love, which is as given below:

• The right to belong: Whether dead or alive, everyone has the right to belong to their family.

• The right to order: Within a family system, family members are ranked according to the time of their arrival. Those who come earlier have a higher rank than those who come later.

• The right to balance: The giving and receiving at the individual and the collective levels strive for balance.

The right to have one’s fate: All the members of the family have the right to choose their path, whether it is to someone’s liking or not.

Any disruption in this order happens when babies are aborted or stillborn; children die young and are not mourned; they are given up for adoption; foster parents do not acknowledge the natural parents of their adoptees; important relationships are not acknowledged; bad experiences are invalidated and the dead are not honoured; or there are ill-gotten gains or family secrets, like extra-marital relationships.

With the help of participants present, their karmic issues were healed, wrong beliefs were corrected, unborn souls were honoured, and, especially, misunderstandings between children and parents, whether dead or alive, were resolved.

NLP for Happiness and Positivity by Nasreen Khan
Nasreen Khan was a powerpack of energy, zeal, enthusiasm, and positivity. She made her workshop fun, interactive, and full of activity. It was a very experiential workshop. A primary key to making this workshop a huge success was a combination of some simple and hands-on NLP techniques offered by Nasreen to the participants. These techniques were so effective and easy to apply, that one could practically make their personal mental well-being toolkit out of them. She started her session by reminding everyone of the most fundamental principle—being self-aware.

The first exercise that Nasreen began with was each participant having to pick a card with a picture on top. The participants had to pair up and exchange their cards while telling each other about what that picture meant to them. Then they had to repeat the same exercise with another partner. It was a jolly good exercise that opened people to each other. It also taught them that if they got their original card back, it may or may not come with the same meaning as they had given to it. Hence, it is always good to be not so attached to a thought, opinion, story, or perception of anything.

Nasreen spoke about the science of neural communication. She explained that the way we use language manifests as reality. For example, if one wants to prevent someone from falling, then warning them by saying ‘Be careful’ or ‘Hold tight’ might be more effective than saying ‘Don’t fall,’ as the mind doesn’t understand negatives like ‘don’t,’ ‘can’t,’ etc.

Nasreen also taught the importance of having an elevated state of mind and being happy in life. She gave some quick easy-to-use NLP hacks to all, which would help them uplift their moods instantly, like trying to hold a negative or worrisome thought while looking up and soon feeling it disappear; doing a rooting or centring exercise, where one would lock his posture, feel his roots going into the ground, and feel all his anxiety, fears, or negative thoughts and feelings conducting downwards into the earth and being free of them; or focussing on one’s navel and forehead, feeling a surge of strength and energy within. The last one was a very powerful exercise to feel strong and self-reliant.

Another potent exercise taught in this workshop was that of perceptual positions. In this, a participant was asked to sit on a chair facing another empty chair. He was then asked to imagine a person he has a conflicting relationship with on the empty chair. He had to communicate all the issues he had with this person through the mind and then change positions, sit on the other chair, and listen to what this other person might have to say in his defence. Then the participant had to stand up, step back, and look at both himself and the other person from a higher perspective or an objective viewpoint. Further, the participant had to step back even more and watch both from God’s perspective. By the end of this exercise, many were left in tears as they understood their relationship better and more truthfully. Judging the other person went out of the window and only love emerged in the participant’s heart. The workshop ended with lots of sharing about the lessons learnt in it, among the participants and with Nasreen too.

Nasreen’s candid, playful, and friendly way of imparting the lessons was the highlight of this workshop. People danced, rejoiced, learnt so much, shared what they grasped from the workshop, and came out from it with brimming confidence and happiness as if they were ready to take on anything in life and use it in their best interest.

Day 2, November 28
Healing with the Akashic Records by Karishma Manchanda

Karishma Manchanda led her workshop with grace, poise, and genuineness. She tried to give away a lot of knowledge about the Akashic records, which was quite a new subject for many. Her workshop started with concepts about the Akashic records, what they meant, their significance, and why they were also referred to as ‘the book of life.’ As the class progressed, it kept becoming more intriguing to everyone. Karishma used a presentation to facilitate the teaching of her topics, making them easier to understand. She also gave away the link of these modules to all the participants for accessing and revising them later.

She spoke in great detail about the overused word ‘karma’ and how it is often misconstrued as good or bad. According to her, karma is a constant development of the soul as opposed to how it is usually seen (punishment of one’s actions of past lives). This perspective was refreshing and freeing for most people present. Her stepwise guidance to make participants connect with the Akashic records to receive answers and information regarding one’s karmic relationship with another was powerful. In the beginning, some participants were finding it difficult to connect and access these records, but many were able to receive insights during the second time when she made everyone repeat the exercise.

Karishma made everyone recite some prayers to invoke the Akashic records, followed by taking the participants through a powerful white light meditation intuited by her. Once, participants were relaxed enough, it was easier for them to establish a connection with the Akashic records. She instructed everyone to ask very clear and short questions to the Akashic records and then wait to receive the answers.

In one exercise, she asked everyone to write the name of the person they had a troubled relationship with on a piece of paper, then go into the white light meditation after saying the prayer, and ask themselves questions like why the relationship is strained, what is their role in it, etc. The more one probed and kept asking clearer questions, the more were the chances of receiving breakthrough insights and perspectives. Ms Manchanda urged everyone to keep asking their questions till they got an answer. She also advised on how to differentiate the voice of one’s mind from that of the Akashic records. She said that the voice of the Akashic records was much more affirmative and wiser. She also added that the voice of the Akashic records would be neutral or objective, unbiased, non-judgmental, and will have a positive tone.

She listed reasons like having some energy blocks, etc., due to which some people might be unable to connect with the Akashic guidance at once. She also mentioned that if they get some healing done in certain areas of their lives, it will allow them to receive answers and guidance from the Akashic records. She said that some realisations received during the process can be life-altering. The Akashic records is a vast realm as a healing modality, containing many sub-levels of understanding, and Karishma effectively tried to condense her level-1 of Healing with Akashic Records (which is usually a one-and-a-half/two-day programme) into an eight-hour programme. Nevertheless, it was well-received and appreciated by everyone present. She also did Akashic reading for some participants, at the end, leaving people in awe of her clairvoyance.

Ms Neha shares, “A very wise takeaway for me from Healing with the Akashic Records was understanding a higher perspective that whoever is planted in our life is needed for our soul’s evolution, even if they might seem difficult at times.”

Abundance with Crystals by Sidhharrth S Kumaar
Sidhharrth S Kumaar, a dynamic astro-numerologist full of positive energy, filled the room with his infectious enthusiasm and shining optimism.

Always the one to break the norm, he asked the participants to list the kinds of well-being they think are important to enjoy a fulfilling life. People mentioned physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. However, Sidhharrth said that they are forgetting a very important element called social well-being. Man is also a social animal, and our happiness and success depends to a large degree on our social connections too. Humans should include the upliftment of every member of society in the scheme of their personal well-being. Explaining crystals and their healing properties, he said that a crystal is a solid whose constituents are arranged in a certain order. The first reference of crystals comes from the documents of ancient Sumerians, which cite Atlanteans as being proficient in the use of crystals.

Sidhharrth said that there are more than 10 thousand crystals available to mankind, each with a specific property which positively aids human beings in enhancing their quality of life. Crystals could be used in multiple ways. They can be worn on the neck, wrist, kept under the pillow, or on a surface. However, he advised against wearing them on the finger unless advised by an expert astrologer. They can be used to charge food and drinks. The effects of crystal healing take 21 days to a month to show.

He also shared the importance of recharging the crystals to keep them potent and working well. There are multiple ways to charge them: One can play the miracle tone of 528 Hz for 21 minutes or any frequency above 700 Hz for eleven minutes, or by chanting Aum. One can charge them even by exposing them to the moon every new and full moon night.

Sidhharrth then shared a table of all the significant crystals and their various usages for different aspects of life. Each crystal corresponds to a particular chakra in the human body and helps in balancing it while getting you the much-desired result. The crystals included amazonite, amethyst, opalite, apophyllite, aventurine, azezlulite, calcite, carnation, citrine, garnet, howlite, lapis lazuli, moonstone, obsidian, rose quartz, and turquoise. Each crystal has a specific property, and people can use them to eliminate negative thoughts, clear blockages, or attract abundance and prosperity.

For the manifestation of abundance, he advised participants to prepare a cheque in one’s own name, write on it ‘Pay in full,’ fold it, and keep it in a red jewellery pouch with two charged crystals—rose quartz and white quartz.
