Wonderful lead story
The article Own Your Body, in the August issue  of Life Positive, was great. With so much hype  and showing-off prevalent on social media  and otherwise, many people have now started  almost hating their bodies. We need to accept  ourselves as we are and then work on making  ourselves as presentable as possible instead  of being obsessed with the concept of beauty  portrayed by those with vested interests to  promote their products. In this article, the  author, Navni Chawla, shows us how to lead  our lives by owning our bodies, as the title of  the article says. I hope more people read this  wonderful article.

Though I have been living in North India for  many years, the culture of the South attracts  me as I was born a South Indian and often go  to South India. My wife, though a Punjabi, has  learnt many art forms of the South and even  makes kolams in our home diligently. We are  known as an ideal couple and role models in  our circles as we have always never hesitated  to be who we are. This is why I really loved  the September 2023 cover story as it tells us to  never hesitate to express ourselves completely.

Haveli culture
I have always wondered why there has been no  effort by anyone to explore the glory of our old  havelis and the culture in and around them.  After reading the article Heal Naturally in  Heritage Havelis, in the September 2023 issue,  I am glad that Life Positive is having a retreat in  this ambience with two wonderful workshops.  I am not sure if I can take part in it, but I shall  surely try as both seem promising. Life Positive has always taken a step in the right direction,  and I wish them the best for this wonderful  event in an unusual and exciting venue. This  certainly seems to be a holistic adventure of a  different kind.

Bearing suffering
The article, The Isness of Suffering, by Suma  Varughese in the September 2023 issue was very  moving. It is a fact that we suffer a lot when  we see our loved ones facing challenges. Her
sharing of her sister’s cancer and her own pain  watching her wither away was very moving. I  remember the time my brother passed away at a  young age, and we all could never overcome the  grief for a very long time. Human nature resists  pain and seeks happiness. However, since both  are the opposite sides of the same coin, we need  to learn to accept pain if we want to savour joy.

The uncertainty of life
Laxmi Nair’s article, Yesterday Lives Only in  Your Mind, in the September 2023 issue of Life  Positive, on the impermanence of life, was very  moving. We need to understand that death can  knock on our door or the doors of our loved  ones anytime. I started calling all my friends  to revive bonds and, in the process, felt much  better as a human being. I am also very grateful  for being alive and for each and every moment  I am gifted with. I resolved to make gratitude a  part of life. So yes, this article did have a great  impact on me.

Moving into the light
The article Into the Light, in the September  2023 issue, was wonderful. It showed us how we  all can try in our own ways to seek the truth  and finally reach there. In the globalised world  of today, one advantage is that we can seek  our path from anywhere and, in the process,  customise it as per what suits us. This is what  was seen in the interview and the journey of  Suresh Ramaswamy. I shall surely buy his  book to know more about him as this interview  piqued my curiosity about him.

Memories of a Bollywood superstar  rekindled
After the lockdown and the discontinuation of  the print copy of LP, when I received the first  issue yesterday, I felt as if I was meeting a long lost friend.
Today, I read the first article titled, Gone in  a Laugh, by Jyoti Marianne Bahri. Maybe it  is some message from the Universe to me.  This story reminded me somewhat of the  character played by the late Rajesh Khanna in  an old Hindi movie titled Anand.
