Transforming India
October 2012
The Chinmaya Mission unfurled a three-year spiritual movement called Transforming Indians to Transform India (TITI) on August 15 from their Himachal branch as a build-up to the birth centenary celebration of their founder, Swami Chinmayananda, which will be celebrated in 2015.

Chinmaya Mission: A mission to uplift India “The Transforming Indians to Transform India mission is based on Chinmayananda’s vision that if Indians became physically fit, emotionally strong, intellectually refined, culturally rooted, and spiritually uplifted, India can be revived,” says Swami Swatmananda, spokesman for the Mission.
The TITI movement is divided into three segments. The first phase involves the recent launch of a book called Transforming Indians to Transform India. The book has been launched in Delhi and Mumbai and will be launched in many more states. Based on the concepts advocated in the book, a national quiz shall be organised across India. The Mission aims to reach 10 lakh individuals and families as participants in 2013. The quiz will be held through more than 250 centres of Chinmaya Mission and its 85 schools and seven colleges across India. With a registration fee of Rs. 100, participants shall be given a complimentary copy of Transforming Indians to Transform India as well. The registration shall be on till January 2013 and the form can be filled online on www.transformingindians.org. “The idea is to promote the concept of family bonding. Therefore, three people from a single family can register,” informs Swami Swatmananda. The second part of phase two involves conducting seminars on transformation in all districts of India in 2014. These seminars shall be conducted in regional languages by professionals and scientists from their respective fields. The third phase in 2015-16 includes a massive awareness drive through rallies covering the length and breadth of India, connecting people. “The tagline of the movement is, ‘My transformation transforms the nation’,” adds Swami Swatmananda.
A worthy cause indeed. May we truly witness a transformed India by 2015.
