Why do I cry when we say goodbye?
When we first met,
You held my hand with love in your eyes,
And a smile on your lips.
And joy in our hearts.
Our love was so instant,
That a tear was not shed at the happiness of our fate.
So, why do I cry when we say good bye?
The love within us flows so deep,
The love within us is the rivers sweep,
It flows and flows without an end,
It flows and flows till we meet again,
So, why do I cry when we say good bye?
This bonding of love is for eternity,
The parting today is not a certainty,
But the love we have has not this fear,
For love with such depth can never disappear,
Why do I cry when we say good bye?
When we first met you held my hand,
When we first met I shed no tears,
My hear filled with joy at finding a friend,
So should I cry when we say good bye?
