We have believers in religion and seekers in spirituality. This itself shows the difference – one group is confident without complete clarity whereas the other admits to an inner quest,” said Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of Isha Foundation, in a recent speech at Mumbai. Emphasising that confidence without clarity is not just useless but detrimental, he stated, 'One must never lose one’s intelligence, no matter what the source may be.”

On recession, he averred that India should take it as an opportunity to create a level playing ground in the entire world by engaging creatively as she had not been hit as badly as the others.

“Never forget that a loyal workforce is an asset and use that to generate opportunities,” was his advice to businessmen. At an individual level, he said that it was a time when one must make sure that one’s inner energy is never to be diminished as that is your creation and yours alone.

”Remove the ‘us and them’ mentality even in politics,” he said, pointing out that politicians in a democratic system were people like us, who chose that vocation. If we wish for a change, we should take a step in that direction. Within the current context, he asked people to take part in the elections, voting for the best, verifying facts for themselves and not relying on hype and hearsay.

“It must be very surprising for you to see me, an adman here, but I am here because of Isha Foundation’s extremely inspiring work in Tamil Nadu and Sadhguru’s secular values,” advertising film-maker Prahlad Kakkar had said in his introductory speech. After the talk, one could understand why.
