Youth Leader is a dynamic online magazine focusing on groundbreaking positive change initiatives, portraits, tools and more.

The newly formed Indian branch’s director, Ritika Verma, held an awareness meeting on September 24 in Mumbai, introducing the magazine and its concept to similarly minded youth. UnLtd India, an NGO that funds, guides and nurtures social entrepreneurship projects, offered its premises for the meeting. Another such NGO, Ashoka, had some of its entrepreneurs present at the meeting to interact with the other attendees. Project Jeet, started by Alok and located in Cuffe Parade, teaches young children a package of football and life skills. Project Kartavya, started by Shubhangi, educates parents on matters of child sexual abuse. Project Oscar, started by Ganpat and Rajesh, also in Cuffe Parade, teaches football but along with personality development. Keep in mind that these are teenagers who have grown up in slums or chawls and are self-motivated.

The Indian edition will be ready in a few months. It will be covering issues pertaining to the Indian scenario and yet of global relevance including the change makers, organisations and individuals who have dared to take the step ahead in positive change that our world is so in need of.

Ritika says, “Youth wants to see a positive change. We have the potential to create it. We have to become more socially aware, earth literate, and active in various issues that surround our world. We have to work towards a sustainable future. We need to create the right conversations. We have to be a part of the paradigm shift that’s taking place. We have to make sure that we have a tomorrow.”
