The Vice President of Life Positive, Mr V Venkat, was recently conferred with the Sri Pathanjali Maharishi International award of excellence at the World Congress on Holistic Medicine held at Salem in Tamil Nadu.
The Congress was held by the Indian Holistic Medical Academy (IHMA) in collaboration with The Open International University, Tamil Nadu Acupuncture Council and Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy.
On receiving the honour, Mr Venkat said, “This award has made me more committed to keep rendering services in the interest of humanity. At Life Positive we are committed to spreading the message of holistic living to the farthest-flung corners of India. It certainly is a big recognition for Life Positive magazine.”
‘Nature is a pharmacy for the soul’ was the theme at the World Congress. The congress opened avenues for the participants to share their experiences with renowned healers, council heads, health secretaries, Ayush directors, state ministers, eminent scholars and educationists of various disciplines of holistic systems.
The Indian Holistic Medical Academy (IHMA) has been formed to bring together practitioners, students and interested individuals and groups who have the common objective of encouraging alternative therapies such as ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, siddha, unani, and homoeopathy.
Dr BT Chidanandmurthy, director, Ccryn Delhi, Dr M Canthaboo Naturopathy Research Institute, London, Dr Geetha, Medical Genetics Specialist, Bangalore, Dr Jagdish Shah, Mumbai, Dr Thirumalai, principal, Sri Ganesh College of Engineering and Technology, Pondicherry, Dr Siva Raj, founder, Sivaraj Institute of Medical Sciences, Salem, were among the theme speakers at the congress.
