what can we do

what can we do

Ananda was ploughing the garden and sowing seeds in his garden.

Anant came close. He said, “My teacher asked us to write an essay on ‘Man is most intelligent but also most destructive to nature.’ Is this true?”

“What do you think?” queried Ananda.

“Of course, we are. We cut trees and destroy the environment,” replied Anant.

He showed his essay to Ananda.

“We are the most ungrateful species of the planet. No wonder all the animals hate us,” it began and went on to write about the many atrocities the human race had committed against nature.

“Don’t you think you should write a solution too?” asked Ananda.

Anant looked pensive.

“You see, if we use our intelligence in the right area, we can do wonders. We need not use things that damage Nature. Note down the effect your purchases would have on Nature.”

“Further, we could enrich Nature. A dog or cat cannot plant a tree but we can. My brother transformed an arid land to a beautiful farm. He is my inspiration even today.”

Reflecting on this, Anant added a paragraph on how we could avoid plastic, wastage of water and plant trees to respect Mother Nature. “I have decided to request my friends to plant at least one tree for me, on every birthday,” he ended.

To Ananda’s delight, he also took up a trowel and assisted Ananda in planting one more tree.
